Default Remote Start / Keyless Entry

Good morning, This is my first post on the Volvo forum. I purchased my wife a keyless entry and remote start for her 940, and now need it installed. I called a place here local and they wanted $500 to install the system. Does anyone out there by chance know how to do this or have some type of instructions. Fram what I understand I will also need to add a lock actuater or something since there is no electric motor for the door locks. Any help would be great. The car is a 1995 940 Turbo. Thanks, Brandon

I just bought the same thing for my Volvo 940 1995...Since i dont live in the states, i got it installed for $ 25 US dollars, and i had to purchase a little motor just for the drivers door for the keyless entry.

Default RE: Remote Start / Keyless Entry

The remote starters that I have seen/purchased had written instructions along with a video for installation. Very detailed. If yours didn't come with instructions I would call the company and have them send you instructions, because they should be with the unit. As far as electric door locks, you would have to have electric locks in order for this feature to work. Also, I know this is probably obvious; but, the remote units are for fuel injected automatic transmission vehicles. They work really well, I installed them on the wifes car and my truck. No problems for two years now. Really nice in the winter. I guess really nice in the summer also..Cheers..
