Default Removing Overdrive button 940

I am replacing the shift **** on my '93 940 wagon. It seems like a pain to re-solder the overdrive button once it is removed. Is there anyway I could go without putting the overdrive button back on the new shift ****. I never use overdrive bypass so is it possible that I could remove this button permanently?

Thanks,

Nick

You could remove it, but I would just run the wires to a different place and put in a different switch.
