Default replacement brake line

I'm trying to replace a front-passenger caliper. One of the line fittings has threads that look very warped and won't catch onto the caliper.

Is this a good replacement ? :

Volvo Brake Line Copper Front (Hose to Caliper) AA0320 | FCP Euro

I ask because the description says "copper" but I thought that would be soft?

thank you!

I can't say I have ever seen copper brake lines from the hard line to the wheel, but that's what the description says, curiously. Probably best to call them to make sure its not a mistake. I can't imagine the fatigue-life to be any good, nor a good idea at all to use a metal tube for this purpose. Brake flex lines are rubber or braided stainless steel for a good reason. If you've seen how much flex lines move when a car is in motion, you'll quickly understand the need for something much more flexible than copper.

Replacement rubber brake lines would probably work best for you.

volvo brake hard lines /should/ be made of copper-nickel alloy, not straight copper. This is also known as cupronickel, volvo pioneered the use of this in the 1960s.

on the 240 non-ABS at least, there's a pair of short hard pipes from the brake caliber to a bracket where the flexible line is attached, something like this...

The FCP relacement brake lines are cupronickel but have steel fittings. If you purchase the brake lines from Volvo, they come with fittings that I assume are the same material as the lines.

I have used the FCP lines and have had no problems with them.

That's a very interesting stock brake setup. I was imagining the hard nickel lines to be in place of the stainless braided flex line, which obviously won't work. You learn something new everyday.

note that specific picture I posted was of a brake upgrade, some kinda bigger caliber from something. but the stock setup is similiarly plumbed.
