Default resistor for blower motor.

So the latest project on the 88 240 has been the blower motor. What a chore that has been. I've been working on it here and there for over a month now. Mostly because I was away for 3 weeks though. Finally got all the dead parts pulled out and will be putting the new motor in on Monday!

I got a new resistor to put in with the new fan motor, thought it might be a good idea since I don't know the history of the motor at all (except that it is what caused the previous owner to sell it). Anyone here put in a new resistor in one of these cars and lived to tell about it? Any tips???
Thanks in advance.

I ALWAYS replace the resistor, motor and the switch when I do a new blower motor...I have done SEVERAL... not difficult to install the resistor on the motor..just make sure it is leaning correctly when you put the motor back in so it doesn't rub the front or back. Besides that it's a no brainer...careful not to drop it..it's porcelein and will break. Good luck..not the most fun of jobs

Thanks, Resistor was a piece of cake, like you said it would be. Just one bolt holding it in place. New motor is working great! Amazing the difference having some ventilation makes in the car.
