Retrieving codes OBD
1991 Volvo 940 se 2.3 turbo. A code is being thrown extremely quick and then resetting itself. Problem is the code has to do with something along the lines of fuel. If im lucky, the car will not throw the code right away so the car will start. So when you turn the key, the fuel system will prime itself as it should and when the vehicle is running you hear the pumps. The car will idle slightly rough then die. Either with a couple turns of the key and it starts again or it will reset itself. Both inline and in-tank pumps have been replaced, as well as the fuel pump relay. Now on the OBD box, which numbered hole do I stick the pin in? Or if someone has had this problem before, please share your input or knowledge

see https://www.volvoclub.org.uk/faq/EngineOBDCodes.html
pin 2 is the ECU (fuel injection) and pin 6 is the ICU (ignition). they each have codes, that page explains how to read them, what they mean, and how to clear them

btw, a 91 940SE is a bit of a bastard. its a '960 turbo', only sold in the US one year, as the 960 6 cyl engine wasn't ready. the engine and transmission are from a 740/940 turbo, but the chassis and interior has the 960 upgrades and changes, like the 760 luxury model before it. completely different dashboard and console, and totally different relay+fuse panels.
