This morning for the second time in a week, when I start the engine the car will only go into reverse!!! After much name calling and numerous tries, by jiggling the wheel, the car goes into gear and all is well. Can anyone tell me what is happening? I need to get this fixed ASAP before I am stuck again!! The car is a 240DL Wagon with 247,000 miles and is running great in all other ways. Thanks

 

Check the trans fluid. If it's not low, like not even on the dipstick, you need a new trans.
