Are you saying that you took the sunroof out of a 740 and installed a 960 sunroof in there and didn't really have a problem?

I believe a 960 roof would fit into a 740/940 with no problems...

 

Some folks take the S90 glass moon roof and swap it into earlier 940's with standard steel sunroofs. That's what he's done here.

 

Oh, cool. I like moonroofs myself. I had a plain sunroof in my 740 and didn't use it much. Mostly at night and on cloudy days. I burn easy and really don't like the sun in my face.

How about V70 ? sunroof will fit 940 ?

 

No, totally different bodies. 700/900 interchange in most things but the FWD platform like V70 is not compatible.

700/900/S90 will interchange just fine. I am not sure about sedan to wagon though... I want to say yes, but...
I have done several swaps but always body style to same body style. Pretty easy in the wagons, not so easy in sedans. In the latter, to get the headliner out, you have to take out at least one of the front seats, the back seat, and even so be really careful maneuvering the shell around--it is fragile and breaks... If you are just doing the sunroof, may be the headliner can stay in the car but I don't recommend it as it will be in the way.
