Default should i get it??

first off let me say that i already own
-1984 bmw 528e 67,000 miles
-1983 bmw 528e 308,000 miles
-1988 bmw 528e 402,000 miles
-1990 volvo 740Turbo Wagon 181,000 miles
so im not a stranger to working on and lovin old cars

now to the question

someone by me has a 1990 volvo 240 wagon......has been sitting a few years but she says before she got a new car it ran great and everything worked...
is this car worth it to 'get into' and start fixing up?
i mean not to resell but to turn heads on RT 80 going to work everyday....

i know it needs a new windshield.....and of course new fluids and brakes by now

i can probably get it for nothing but could there be a lot of other things wrong from sitting
(never bought a car that sat for so long)
any help would rock
thanks!

Default RE: should i get it??

If you do get it, I would definitely change All the fluids, and brakes, and all the fluidlines (just to be on the safe side). My dad has a 79 Trans Am thathas beensitting in our garage for about 10-15 plus years. It is mint and has beenoccasionally started throughtout that time sitting. The last time we started it (about one month ago) it ran perfect. We also changed the fluids in that car not to long ago. Dont know about the 240 but volvos are solid cars and if it was only a year or two, and nothing "extreme" happen prior to the sitting, and if you could get it for nothing, and as long as there is room for it,I wouldget it. Good luck.
