Default Speedo and Odometer problems

Ok I had a thread here from last month about the Odometer being dead, I changed out the whole cluster with good gears and no wokey da. Still dead but the speedo needle reads about 20 mph fast. could the speed senser on the rear axle be bad? if so how hard is it to change? and where exactly is it located? Thanks, and God bless.

not sure what model brick you have - but if your speedo is working, but not your odometer - then the sensor in the rear axle (located on the back of the 3rd member) is showing up for work. If the speedo & odo are both dead - THEN it could be the sensor - or the connector at the sensor, or the cluster printed circuit, or the head, or ...

Default speedo problems....

Ok, I have a 1989 Volvo 240 the cluster has new gears, and the odometer gears turn freely. Speedo is at least 20 mph fast. Any ideas?
