The stock struts and shocks will work with the springs.

Are we talking about a coil over spring here? That takes time but it's pretty straight forward...actually, springs in general are pretty straight forward. I just did this with my cavalier and it turned out fine. I was able to get a set of coil over springs for $54 on e-bay...you can get them cheaper but....well, you know.

Then again, when comparing GM parts to Volvo parts it's a different story. The price and ease of installation are probably completly different. I guess that makes my post a bit irrelevant.

Staying on topic however....is there a coil over system for 240's?

It is somewhat complicated the fronts are the worse.
You pretty much have to remove the entire strut assembly and Spindle and Hub then remove the spring.
Or get the car high enough to drop the assembly some and swing it out and support it with a Jackstand then remove the spring.

If someone else does it I would say between 3 and 4 hours labor.(Not sure of the Labor rate near you)

my suspension is going to be delay a little to a long time bc i just blew like $300 bucks on a whole emergency tune up...i needed new spark plug wires....so i went ahead and got all new fuel filters....etc......plus my ignition modulator went out....always check yours in you have a 740...its located in the front right corner near the battery against the body.......$100 (included in the $300) to replace and install.....ahhhh.....

so prolly atleast 3 or 4 wks....bc i need:

ball joints
shocks/struts-koni adj.
stuct mounts
lowering springs
sway bar
all from ipd total $1400

i have only 800.....donations?
