Default starts but runs super ruff

91, 740 2.3 volve, car will start but cant idle by its self. WOT is 2000 rpm and starts back firing out the exhaust in gear. no check engine lights. Ive replaced the fuel pump in the tank the fuel filters, spark plugs and wires, and now the timing belt, just tryed to change the timimg to see if it would help but nothing. im lost on this one so if anyone has some more ideas that be great.

thanks

Do you know if your car has Rex Regina injection or Bosch LH2.4? If you have an inline pump under the car it's 2.4.If only the intank pump than it's a Regina. You can't really change the timing on either system Did you do the belt yourself? Because it really sounds like it's out of time. Another good possibility is you have crossed up the ignition wires. Double check the plug wires to make sure they aren't crossed.

The n/a cars went to LH2.4 in 89, the turbos stayed LH2.2. Both flavors used an inline under car pump and a lift pump in the tank. Beginning in 90, Volvo made use of the Rex Regina system on many n/a cars.
