super fun time with alternator mounts!!
here's the deal. my alternator is all out of whack, crooked and not mounted right. the pulleys for it and the fan pulleys don't line up and it's causing the outer belt to slip off and the inner belt to rub on the alternator, wearing it down. i'm sure we can all imagine what would happen then. not super fun time. oh yeah, the tensioning bolt grinds into the fan pulley as well.
i know the front end was hit with the previous owner, i'm trying to figure out if that's why it's messed up or if this is something other people have come across. if this is common, what needs to be replaced, where can i get it, etc etc any useful information about the process of fixing it.
you guys were really helpful when i was replacing the inner and outer tie rods, that process went well, and the steering is much better now...i appreciate it, and i appreciate any info with this.
