I have a question about gearboxes.

Is it possible to use a 5speed gearbox of a Volvo 240 with B200K motor (1986) to replace the 4speed gearbox of my Volvo 240 with B21A engine (1976). Does the 5 speed gearbox fit to the B21A engine?
Another problem is that the 1986 gearbox has a electronic speedmeter and mine has a mechanical speedmeter with a cable. Is it possible to make a change at the 5speedgearbox sothat the mechanical speedmetercable fits to it?

 

It might bolt up.I think the bellhousings are pretty much all the same. The problem you will run into is maybe the drive shaft and the speedo. I don't think the 5 speed will have the gear to run the cable in the trans.
