Default Switches on M46?

Howdy All,
I am in the middle of a really ugly swap. I have a D24 diesel with a M46 trans that I put into a 1979 240 wagon. I am working on the wiring and wondering what the two switches on the top case of the M46 are? I am sure one is the back-up lights. From a top view, one is on the center of the left side of the top cover. The other is toward the front on the right side of the top cover. Both switches look inter-changable.
Thanks for any help,
Jacdocolus

I believe the other is the 4th gear switch for the overdrive.

Thank You! That makes a lot of sense. I am scrounging parts from several Volvos. I haven't got my hands on a decent wiring diagram yet; only a Haynes manual. Luckily(I guess!?!) I have the wiring harness from the '86 diesel.

I'm pretty sure the backup light switch is the one that is center left but you might be able to note the slight differences from the picture attached or wire colors (if still attached) ...
