Synchronize Odometer Gears...Pls Help
Hi all...my vehicle is 1992 VOLVO DL-240. A new odometer 25T wheel was installed due to odometer stopped working. Here is my problem:
Little odometer (4-digit) works correctly. However "big" odometer (6-digit) does not advance correctly when 4-digit odometer advances from .9 to 1.0. Big odometer advances at .4 mark and after .9 to 1.0 on "little" odometer...real strange!!!!
Obviously I moved some big gears. How do you synchronize all gears on big odometer so all digits are synchronized and advance together (big and little odometer).
Love the forum...great help....wonderful people....love VOLVO

they are supposed to do that. the big odometer is absolute mileage, if the (hidden) 0.1 was reset with the trip ('little') odometer, you'd lose an average of 0.5 miles each time you reset the trip meter.
over the course of 100,000 miles, if you reset the trip meter for each gas tank at an average of 200 miles per tank, you'd have lost 250 miles of actual vehicle mileage if the odometer hidden 10ths was reset
