Default Tail Light Issues

Whats crackin everybody,

My tail lights are out on my 1986 Volvo 240 DL and I need to find a way to fix it. My reverse lights and brake lights are working but I still need to get this fixed.

I'm not good with cars so if I could get some advice about where to start that would be great!

Thanks guys!

start with a volt meter, and the wiring diagrams for your year car. check the voltage on the parking light wire[1] at each tail light assembly when they are turn on. if there's no juice at the wiring, then the problem is up front somewhere... if there is juice, then the problem is in the tail light assembly itself.

do the front parking lights work? what about the license plate lights?

[1] my 1986 240 wiring diagram says its a red wire on the left tail light, and a brown one on the right tail light, these go to the center lower row on a sedan, or the bottom light on a wagon.
