Default In Tank Fuel pump question

Should the in tank fuel pump run off of full battery voltage? or should it run off of less? I am only getting 10 volts to the in tank pump. This is also a brand new in tank pump.

Should be 12v to the pump. Make sure you are measuring to proper ground.

also note quite a few aftermarket in-tank pumps are wired backwards :-/ so if you hook them up 'correctly', they suck instead of push.

also, see In the Tank - 240 Volvo Tank Pump and Sender for a very detailed discussion of 240 in tank pumps. 740/940 are quite similar except for the tank access port.
