Default TEMPERATURE COMPENSATOR

I have been having a problem with my temp gauge going up in the red. I have have the radiator checked and flushed. The head machined and checked for cracks and pretty much all the temp componets replaced to no avail. I just talked to a volvo parts dealer in wilmington and he told me that the guages very rarely go bad but rather the temp compensator. IS THIS TRUE NEW OWNER.

Once you get the gage cluster out take the screws out on the back the gages come out as a unit and you can unplug the temperature compensation board from there. You can buy IPD's kit or make your own from two computer jumpers with the backs cut off. Insert kinked jumper wire from the back and you are done. From then on your temperature gage will read actual temperature. When you go up a longgggg hill you will see the temperaure rise slightly and when you go down a longgg hill you will see the temp go down a little.

Yes install the jumper wire from terminal 1 to 3 and you are done.
