Default testing MAF

I have a persistant cold-start problem on my '92 240 wagon with LH 3.1. I'm pretty sure it's the MAF, and I've replaced it several times with no luck. My Bently manual says the maf should measure 108 ohms between pins 1 and 4. Can anyone confirm for me that that is the correct value? two replacements that I bought measure about a thousand ohms. The last one I bought is completely open. I'm tired of just buying new ones and hoping they work. I'm currently looking at ones on Ebay and asking the seller to measure resistance for me.

Over the years that I have been into these cars (since 1986) I have never found a reliable MAFS testing procedure, it's just too complicated a gadget for effective testing and it has defeated many techs and Volvo experts. It's probably the biggest source of misdiagnoses and badly running Volvos out there; probably the reason why so many "rebuilt" units don't seem to do the job and frustrate Volvo drivers.
