Thanks for helping me Fix my Rich running condition.
I have another account here, but I lost the password, and to reset would require me to access an email account that has expired...so I made this one, and have written down my PW and username on paper.
but a couple months back I asked about help for my 1990 740 Turbo, it was running very rich sometimes, sometimes stalling out, rough idle, tons of black smoke...
Someone reccomended replacing the ECT sensor under the #3 intake runner. I took that advice and did the repair, took about 30 minutes, and it worked like a champ. The car purrs like a kitten and runs so much better, better than it has in the 6K miles Ive put on it.
I appreciate the help, I would never have guessed a little sensor could cause so much grief.

RE: Thanks for helping me Fix my Rich running condition.
Wasnt the first time either, You all also bailed me out on the O/D light problem being a broken solder joint on the relay in the center console area of the dash.
I popped that sucker out, found the broken joint, sweated some solder into it, voila...O/D worked perfectly after that, and has worked right since then.
What's funny, on the running rich problem...I had 3 shops in town, including the local Volvo dealer tell me that my problem was bad injectors, as the 1990 740Turbo had unreliable injectors...they all said replacing all 4 would fix my problems...
If Id done that, Id have been at least 500 dollars poorer...and still gulping fuel.
