Default Things I need for my low mile 240

I have an immaculate 86 volvo 244. It has original 68,000 miles and the car looks brand new. It drives like new as well. I would like to do some things to the car to increase the cool factor but also have the opportunity to change it back to stock to retain its heratage. I would like ?

Great set of shock that will mate with the lowering springs.
A nice set of rims that will be offset and fit the wheel wells perfectly preferably 16" black. Anyone have an idea where to get a set of nice modern style rims that are set up for volvo? I would like to not add spacers , studs extra.

The valve need to adjusted I have a slight tick on one or two. I have seen the IPD kit but this would require 300.00 just to get started on fixing it.

I also can't seem to figure out my 91 it will not run no matter what I do. Anyone know of a 240 volvo expert in San Antonio, Austin or Texas area?

Wheels: get Hydras or Geminis, both Volvo OEM 16", you can paint them black.
Valves: are you sure the tick is not from the injectors? These cars rarely need a valve adjust. If needed better have a shop do it--last time I had one done it was $100, two years ago. Or measure the clearances, and just get the shim(s) you need, probably one or two max.
I wouldn't go to the hassle/expense of lowering it... Not worth it and screws up the ride. Keep it original.

It definitely the valves I guess I'll have to get the kit and do it myself . My local Volvo dealership won't work on the car. I'm more than capable to do it myself just hoping I might find someone local that could do it faster and less than renting the shim kit.
As far as the wheels I considered eom to keep it period correct but I wouldn't mind something larger than 15". Also a little more modern that if I wanted I could put the stock rims on to go back stock. The car is a tan Champagne color. Black 17x8 would look nice fitted tightly with minimal lowering with IPD springs.

The rims in the link are as follows:

17" OEM polaris or eiker aftermarket copy. (the OEM has a step in the lip).

16" OEM Gemini.

16" OEM galaxy.

17" DTMsuper I think... Popular in Sweden.

Some other options.

16"or 17" bobert type e and a look decent on the cars.

16 or 17" bbs classic mesh style.

Check out esm for cheap aftermarket. They are sold out of alot of the 5x108s

There are some hre that look great, but very expensive.

The kit for adjusting valves from IPD doesn't cost $300 unless you keep it. You basically put a $250 deposit on the kit and when you return it you just pay for the shims that you used plus a $40 fee. It is explained on their web site.

Yeah I had seen that. I just hate to tie up all that cash while it's being done. I'll probably have to bite the bullet and do it.

If you don't want to "tie up the cash", measure the valve clearances, and just get the shim(s) you need, probably one or two max. The shims should be available at the dealer for a couple of bucks each.
