Hey all, 91 740 T and i have had it with the constant squeeling and sometimes screeching of my break pads. I have done some research and was thinking about trying some ceramic pads on the front, so see if it helps. Any thoughts? Or have any of you guys used ceramics on your volvos before, and if so what brand? Thanks!

 

i work at a muffler and bake shop and the customers that buy are ceramic brake are usualy pleased with them, better stopping and much quieter. we use Quiet Stop brand pads.

 

I've got the same car and basically the same problem with my front brakes. I bought the car about a year ago and the seller stated the front pads/rotors were new and from looking at them they were, but they have squealed basically from day one. The pads are semi-metallic and I also believe a local garage while doing some other repairs tightened the lug nuts way too tight possibly warping the rotors. The rotors mic to spec, but I am getting ready to replace with ceramic pads and have the rotors turned. I just bought some pads off ebay, carquest brand (supposedly made by raybestos) ceramic for 35.00/shipped. This was cheaper than anything at the local advance auto/autozone. Good Luck
