Default tightening momo hub 240

I just installed a momo wheel hub on my 87 244 and I used a 1 1/16 (27mm) socket to get it off and that worked perfectly fine. When I went to put on the new hub, the hole for the nut is just big enough for the socket but there's also the horn button wire in there and if I tighten it then it'll rub and maybe ruin my horn power so how do I get it tight? Right now it's somewhat tight with needlenose pliers and I want to avoid buying a 10 dollar new socket that will be only used once if I can.

not much choice but a thin wall socket. if you had a lathe handy, you could buy a really cheap socket, and turn it down.

Yeah that’s what I figured, seems like poor design but thanks!
