Default Time for some input.

So now that i have most of the mechanical stuff figured out for now...im looking for some creative ideas as far as upgrading the looks of the car, I plan on redoing the rear springs to get rid of the inch or 2 of sag, I like the rims, maybe spacers but i know how bad those can be for the car and saftely, the ride is decent, im sure with new springs and shocks itd be better. THe interior needs new leather, but besides that im looking for a way to get a sub and amp wired in. I dont want to put something in the trunk, i usally have stuff in the trunk and also am afraid of rattling, id like to figure out some way to hide an 8" or so sub in the cabin somewhere. any idea? Or i might just go with some component speakers for alittle deeper hit. Besides radio, i might do some tint just to lesson the sun damage and make the windows alittle darker, nothing crazy. Any other ideas? thought of putting some fogs in the lower front valance of the bumper, ever been done? Look good at all? Idea time..

I had a 740 GLE and put iPd heavy duty springs on the back and I loved them.

Tint is a must, especially if you don't garage the car. I just had 35% put on my 960 because they did not have the legal 25% in stock and I feel it is fine. I prefer 20% but I have been pulled over in my yellow R and checked for tint level (failed) and just wanted to avoid the hastle again. I believe you can get away with 20% all the way around on older cars, especially if they can't figure out when it was installed.

Wheels would be nice, also, if you keep checking the yards you may find a rear fin.

As for the seats, you may have to keep checking the yards for a good set of seats and just spring for them. A lot of junk yards are not buying pre-'98 models anymore so you may want to check cars for sale by the owners to snag some seats from someone that has just blown a head gasket or something. I purchase a '98 S90 with a perfect interior for $500. I resold the car for $1,200 after putting a few $$$ into it.

Don't think you will be able to hide a sub in the car. However, if you find a Premium Sound System it may do the trick. My 960 and 850 T-5R sound really good. Nice base as well.

Have fun!

might check with a higher end car stereo place they have probably done some of these cars...may be able to figure something out that won't take up too much space...look on www.ipdusa.com they have some sick 17" wheels that bolt on for $148.00 each and also a ton of exterior and interior stuff to trick your car out...also could do Euro tail lights and headlights/turn signal assemblies...interior wood grain kit...IPD lowering springs, 17" wheels with low profile rubber, bilsteins HD shocks and struts, front and rear sway bars, etc...may even be a body kit for the 940 on Ebay...or Ebay sweden/germany etc..also check out Dave Bartons site www.davebarton.com Have fun!!

I got 20% on the wagon and it is just prefect.
I did a stereo (you can see it in my thread) in it and was able to mount ~2.5" deep componet speakers right to the door metal. They are only 5 1/4", which is the largest diameter i think will work with the stock door panel opening unless you modify them. A subwoofer is a must with that small of diameter, which you will need to mount in the trunk.

What will be ideal, is you build or have someone build you a false wall for the trunk that backsup to the back seat, but allows you to mount a sub or two, and an amp or two. this will still provide you with plenty of trunk space, and will give you a hidden setup.

Edit://
once you have some good woofer movement in car, things will rattle. it will take some time to find them all, and apply some foam, or rubber, or tape, to keep them from rattling or buzzing.

Yeah true. I was thinking that a false board would be nice.
