Default Timing Marks/Help

So me and a few of my buddys put a new head gasket on our 92 940 GL 2.3 non-turbo. But we did not set the crank to top dead center or the cams at 12' neither basicly the timing is completely off. what r the marks and how do we get the cams and crack inline without Mr piston meeting Mr valve. we ordered a new belt and want to get every thing together tomorrow when we get it. a set by set would be great help thanks!

Don't worry, in that motor Mr. Valve and Mr. Piston are never destined to meet regardless of how badly you mistime it. You DON'T HAVE a GLE, right, the b234 (16 valve) motor?

Or an after market cam? Because those are about the only two scenarios other than a milled head that can make the motor an interference motor. Here's how to set the cam timing. It's the intermediate shaft that folks tend to get wrong.
