Tip- Check up on your spare tire!
Hey all again,
Thought I'd pass this on as it's something you might not think of normally
So it's always a good idea to check the inflation level of your spare once in a while- what good is a spare at 15 psi, right?...
In the 240 wagons, water can sit in the bottom of the spare tire well, and if left long enough can ruin the spare---I just got a 240 and looked at the spare today- the belts rusted/corroded to the point where the tread/ply actually separated from the tire---glad I found this out at home...
I have a few old tires that I can choose for to fit on a rim to make a cheap- and standard size spare. I'll probably also stick something (couple pieces of pvc or something like that...) underneath the tire to raise it so that it does not plug the drain hole (source of the problem)
Hope this helps a few out there!
