Top of door vinyl replacement
89 240 Wagon- There is a black vinyl trim "graphic" that is applied to the top of the doors, below the windows, runs all the way to the end of the car on the sides. Mine is old, cracked and generally looks bad. any sources for finding this replacement black "stripe"? Thanks!!

RE: Top of door vinyl replacement
Last i checked {tried to get it for my 242} its no longer available. I was able to find a buisness that makes signs and banners for store fronts and they made a template and had a set for me 2 days later for $35. Much better then the $130 kit the dealer use to offer. The fun will be removing the old stuff with out damaging the paint. I got mine off with a high pressure washer and a beater tip.

Alex- Any chance the shop that did your vinyl would still have the template? Just about any place I'd go would have to ship it to me, 35$ sounds like a good price, if they've done one already, maybe the same place could cut / sell a set to me. Got a phone #? How did it fit? Dave

The template would be different from yours since you car is a wagon and it travels further back then my 242.
Im confused on why they would have to ship it to you. Do a search on yellowpages.com for sign/banner shop in your area. I would also expect it to be a couple bucks more since it will be longer.

Alex- I thought yours was a wagon, and if it were a wagon, a template would've been made already. A "local" shop would be about 15, 20 miles away. For a sign place to make it, it would just be less hassle to have it shipped. If that's the case, I could have it shipped from anywhere, not just locally. I can easily make my own template, probably just do it that way. Dave
