Tow hitch- 240 vs 740

If I found a good, used tow hitch off a 740 (wagon / sedan) at my local U Pull It junkyard, would it fit on my 89 240 wagon? Havent found one yet , but I might go scouting... Dave

They are not interchangeable on UK models as the factory provided mounting points are different. I would have thought that would apply worldwide.
