Trans dip stick wrench

89 240, (B230) what size wrench do I need to loosen the transmission dipstick tube to pan? It's one I dont have, I know that! Thanks, Dave

Don't do it. Never mess with the nut that holds the tranny tube to the pan - you will ruin it. Trust me. If you want to take the automatic transmission pan off, the tube has to come with it.

I've never had a problem with it. Make sure you hold the nut on the pan and you will be fine.
If it does spin, you were taking the pan off anyway, get it brazed and job is done.

Guess the bigger question is- how important is it to replace the transmission filter? I'm thinking maybe I should just change out the fluid from up at the radiator and be done with it. Dave
