Default Transmission leaking on a 1985 Volvo 240

I am new to this whole volvo enthusiasm i recently bought a 85 240 wagon with the turbo engine. Well so far its a very interesting car the way they are designed and built. After doing some research i can diagnose certain things on the car . Straight to the point i am leaking crazy amounts of trans fluid. Can i replace trans with a 91 n/a 740 sedan. Note both trans are automatic please help im trying to use the 91 for as many parts as possible especially if starter and alternator swaps right over that would be cool oh and water pump i really like the wagon. A diamond in the rough!

I think so, however, when my transmission was leaking, a transmission shop rebuilt mine for about $365. You may want to check that first.

$365? Where are you? In most US markets you have to pay more than that to get the tranny out of the car. $1,500+ for the simplest rebuilt...

An '85 probably has a BW, the '91 AW. Still, easy swap if you got all the parts from the donor car...
