My 1985 740 gle with an automatic transmission suddenly stopped shifting into any gears. The rpm's just keep going higher and higher, but it won't go into the next gear. I can't drive faster than 30 mph or it sounds like the car is about to blow up. I checked the fluid level, and it's fine. I was going to buy that solenoid bypass kit that I saw advertised on one of your posts, but I don't really know if that's the problem. Do you have any suggestions for me? Please?!?
