Default Tried multiple sets of spark plug wires and none fit. (940)

I have tried a couple sets of spark plug wires, for both Bosch and Regina(?) ignition systems however none of them have fit. My dad is starting to wonder if maybe it's not an original engine. Any suggestions on finding the right wires?

Do you have the rare front mounted distributor as opposed to the rear of the head mounted one? Some 940s, mainly 1993s and '94s came with this set up and they take Volvo 240 wires--should use Bougicords (Volvo OEM)...

Many uninitiated don't know this and confusion results. Even some all knowing "Volvo shops" scratch their heads when they see a front distributor in a 940 and start speculating but it's fine, that's what Volvo did...

I've personally had issue with the wires with the metal boots.

#1 you have to have plugs with removable tips. and remove them.
#2 If the boots or wires aren't pulled all the way back to the end the plug doesn't sit all the way in the wire.

What exactly is the issue? length? or what???

I'm sorry I never responded. I figured out that somebody did an engine swap before me and I have a 240 engine. The lengths of the wires are different.

As I posted earlier, you have a b230f motor with front distributor (a la 240) from the factory. Rare but not especially in '93 NA 940s. So when it comes to getting ignition parts just ask for '93 Volvo 240 or else you'll get parts that won't fit.

Thanks for the information lev! Sorry I missed your reply earlier. Figured out the 240 engine (just thought it was a swap not factory) and didn't get back on the forums for a bit.
