Default turbo questions

accidentaly posted this in new member section, oops. here are my questions, i'm looking at getting a 240 wagon and have been told a turbo is the only way to go. the volvo 240 sedan i had was non turbo and it did fine. what should i look for on the turbo cars? how long do the turbos last? how dependable are they for a car that will see multi-state road trips, lots of all day highway driving in other words? are there parts with the turbos that regularly have to be replaced?

Default RE: turbo questions

yo man, my advice to you is to stay away from the turbos, unless they are in prestine condition. I have a 88 740 turbo and i've been nickel and dimin' this car for the past year. if you're lookin for a project, a turbo might be fun, and they have a lotta kick. but beware, they fall apart much more easily than the standard versions.
