I had to swap my gauge cluster recently and it all went fine but I'm wondering what the pink and white cable is for. I didn't have to unplug it from the original dash and everything seems to work fine without it. I also wrapped the end of it with some electric tape when I put the dash back in so It wouldn't short anything. Any ideas what the pink and white cable is for?

 

the red-white wire is for a tach don't plug into anything if you don't have a tach it will fry the cluster! pink-white should be for the check engine light.
does the CEL work when you turn the key?
