Ya, smog tests are a god damn racket, there are bigger polluters out there, taxing poor suckers like me on a car that ain't even worth $1000. not cool.

California will GIVE you $1000 to take that old car off the road as new cars have a fraction of the emissions (these Volvos were clean for their time, but nowhere near modern standards).

No kidding? I'd just use it to buy another old car. New cars are boring, and more expensive to fix.
