Default <<<<VOLVO 240 with a Intermediate shaft problem>>>>

Intermediate shaft is causing timing belt to jump on a 1983 240 with 2.3L w/o turbo

when i turn it in the beginning it sticks and dont want to spin when it brakes loose it spins no problem

suggestions on what it might be causing this to happen?

maybe something in the distributor is binding up?

ooooh i didnt know about that i think that might be it im going to hopefully take the motor out this weekend i didnt think about that thanks

Or a trapped leprechaun inside the engine hanging onto the shaft. If you're lucky, he'll have his gold with him.

Sounds like fun!

Joe...now exactly why did you let the cat out of the bag? The secret of the leprechaun was not to be treated lightly! They sometimes get testy and have been known to bite. I've also heard, but have no proof, that they will occasionally urinate in the oil pan!

I am having the same problem with my 240 Intermediate shaft not turning after a timing belt replacement.
What did you find on yours?
