Default Volvo 240 shaking issues, help!

Hello everyone! I am new to the forum, and have been a viewer for quite some time now.

Now I need help with my 1991 Volvo 240!

It is a wagon, and has stock everything. 223k miles as we speak, or type I should say.

Ever since ive had it, it has had shaking issues when it idles!

Both motor mounts and the transmission mount have been replaced, which eliminated it quite a bit. But it still shakes when idle.

She leaks a little oil, as well. But not enough to have to put in between oil changes.
No unusual smoke from the tail pipe as well, no smoke at all.

The AC compresser IS going out, is there a possibility that it is causing the rough idle?

Any help would be appreciated! I would hate to have to trade for something else, as I love my Volvo.

It feels as if the engine missing.

No codes or 'check engine light' flashing

I've had a similar problem in the past - it was solved by replacing the distributor cap, plugs, and wires.

At the time it was acting like it was only firing on 3 cylinders.

That kind of shaking is most likely engine misfire... Take a compression test to eliminate serious problems as the cause, then a good tune up, making sure there are no vacuum leaks.

To find a missing cylinder, just unplug an injector one at a time. If one has no effect, that's the one. Each time you remove one, it should idle worse. Don't worry, the engine should idle on 2 cylinders.
