07 XC90 3.2.

Drives great until I hit 60, then the entire vehicle begins to shake violently, like to a point I think the rear view mirror is going to fall off.

This just started today. When it start I slow down, and when I begin to accelerate again it goes away and feels fine, until I hit 60 mph again.

I launched and retrieved a boat today, so I used the parking brake a lot. Ive read something that say the PB's in these vehicles pretty much suck, and can cause the rear brakes to seize up. It's difficult to depress the parking brake, which from what Ive read is a symptom. I have no idea if this and the shaking could be related, however.

Please, I would love to hear any ideas. Hoping it's not something too serious. Thanks

 

My guess would be that you have some bushing blown out or something. I would take it to a shop to have them check the suspension.

You may also have lug nuts loose. I have heard of people having 3 or 4 out of 5 lug nuts loose or broken.

Last but not least, you have a damaged tire. Usually out of balance doesn't shake that bad but anything is possible.

 

Did you figure out the issue with the shaking? My daughter's car is having the same issue. '07 XC90 and every so often it will shake the whole car like there is a flat tire.
I was told to check the bushings and look for wear. I'm just trying to find answers..
