Angry Volvo will not start

Hi, I hope someone can help me with this. I have a 1989 740 Volvo that will not start. I have replaced the fuel filter, fuel pump, & the fuel regulator. spark plugs, and wires are good. engine cranks good, but will not start. (sounds like its out of gas) The only way i can get this engine started is if i disconnect the connectors above the first two injectors. The engine starts right up, but kinda shacky. I then reconnect the injectors, and the engine runs, and sounds great. I can drive it with no problems. I can turn engine off & on with no problems. BUT if the car is off for about 20 minutes, it will not start. I then have to disconnect injectors again.
What is the problem??? ELPASO_GAMES@YAHOO.COM

sounds like the injectors could be leaking, as when its hot you can start it with out any problems which makes me think the fuel is vaporising in the cylinder so when it happens again remove the plugs in cylinders of the offending injectors and see if they are wet with fuel and if they are then thats your problem

hope this will help

Go to www.stepbystepvolvo.com for free guide to 740 no-starts. It could be the radio interference suppression relay. You want to run tests when the engine will not start.

Make sure to check your oil to see if it has become half gas half oil. SOunds like your coming on full duty cold cycle and its flooding the motor? Is there a strong smell of gas.

Default still no start

Hello everyone, and thanks for helping. It doesn’t smell a whole lot like gas, but I will look into it tomorrow. So far I had all injectors cleaned, and tested. They are all good. I just don’t understand what’s going on with this engine. Again

It turns, but wont start, but as soon as I unplug injector 1 and 2, it fires right up. I reconnect the injectors, and the engine runs great. The engine will then turn on many times with no problems. But if the engine is off for more than 20 minutes, it won’t start.

I got the fuel injection codes@ (socket #2) 113
ignition codes @ ( socket #6) =none 111

I hope this helps diagnose my problem. Thank You

update; now engin only starts when injector 1,2 are disconnected. It will no longer restart within those 20 minutes.
