Default what is the best way to make sure new water pump dont leak?

The TOP rubber Grommet is my main concern, any tricks?

I plan to use some liquid gasket on there lightly to insure no leaks from the TOP Gasket "Grommet'

The o-ring sits really tight.
I always use a very small amount of silicon sealer in the water pump before installing the o-ring(Seal) then a slight bit on the seal. I only use it to help slide the water pump in and move it to get the bolts in.

Actually the top ring rubber gasket almost never leaks. I put a little vaseline to help it up. I'd recommend you gently pry the water pump up with a large screwdriver to get the bolts to go in once the pump is on the studs and the nuts are hand tight-makes it easier.

I use a small screwdriver in one of the bolt holes to move it around and get the screws started.
