I have a 1986 Volvo 240DL and one of the side clips busted off of this piece today when I was removing it, any idea what this piece is called so I can look for a replacement? And while we're at it does anyone know what that orange-ish looking sideways button is for? Initially I thought it was for the defrost but there's a different button for rear and front window defrost on the center control panel of the car. Tx.

 

It's called the "panel on the left side of the instrument cluster". The orange switch is for the rear fog light.

 

in the older parts catalog, its listed as 'cover panel', part number 1308859 but I have no idea if thats available anymore....

this suggests 'NLA'...

Thanks guys. And isn't that interesting about the fog light. I didn't even know I had fog lights. Now I gotta check for them. (:

 

its a bright red light in the driver side tail light. meant to serve as a warning light for people coming up behind you on dark roads in poor visibility conditions. its a european thing, my older Mercedes has them too.

 

Interesting, never knew about that. Was able to find the cover panel on eBay for a good price. Thanks again.
