Looks like the oil pressure sensor. There should be a wire connected to it.

Oh ok, that's the black wire that's in front of it than. Bc it fell off and I thought that was the ground. Someone tempered with it so I was trying to figure it out.

My alternator wasn't charging the battery so I got a new one and in a process of the removing the old one, I noticed that the black wire came off, so I thought it was maybe the ground for alternator (even though I know it should be on the alternator itself)

Thx

I'd be spraying that engine down with degreaser, hosing it off, let it dry, then drive a few miles and see where all that oil is comin gfrom, and fix it.

on a 92 240, the oil pressure sensor wire is indeed black. ditto on a 92 740/940... I didn't check any other years

Car has 370 000 miles and when I got it it had a good oil leak I couldn't find. I changed PVC and it continued (since I got a cheaper one), than I replaced it again with the OEM one and the oil leak stopped.

No more oil leaks but I just changed the oil and made a mess there since I couldn't unscrew the filter so I stubbed it with the screw driver so I can turn it...

I would love to wash the engine as its pretty dirty but someone messed with the wires so I am afraid not to mess up any connections and ruin it by washing it...It would be ideal if I could take the engine out but not sure if its worth doing all that on a $700 car with the bad paint and body

So what kind of a connector can I put on that oil pressure sensor. I tried female bullet butt one but it doesn't work.

Thx
