Where is the Air Filter Located on 240s?
Hi, Im new tothe forums and new to owning a Volvo car. Ive refered to my owner's manual and searched online and I cant find anywhere where it shows where the Air Filter is located on a 1990 Volvo 240 DL. If someone could explain how to get to it or has any pictures of the engine with an arrow that would be great. Also tips on how to change it. Thanks
the air box is a black box on the drivers (left) side on the front, beside the radiator. to do it right, you need to disconnect the air hose from the front of the box, and there are two clips on the sides. pull the front of the air box out, be sure to get all the leaves and dirt out of the box, and put the filter in the front of the box first, making sure the rubber gasket is pressed in all the way around. then the front hooks into slots at the bottom of the air box (you can see the tabs when you have the front out). when you get done, make sure the gasket isn't sticking out anywhere around the box, or you'll be sucking filth into the engine.
