will 2002 Volvo V70 wheels work on my 89 240. Will I need spacers? what tire size will get me back as close as possible to original tire diameter. Are there other aluminum wheels that will work ?

 

They will not work, not without spacers. With the V70 being based off the 850 you might want to research how to get 850 wheels onto a 240.

That being said it is very do-able with some spacers and extra work, I've seen it done pretty well.

Imo if you really want bigger wheels get some Volvo 760 or 240 turbo rims, those will bolt up with no problems.

 

Get 16" Volvo Hydras or Geminis--no spacers needed.

 

hydras! 16x6", on a 740/940, you use 205/55-16, I think 240 is pretty close to same.



(yes, on my 740, not on a 240)

putting 16" /55 tires on a 240 instead of the standard /70 14" /will/ harsh your ride.

 

I'm after a lighter wheel/tire combination. Lower profile would be ok but not to an extreme.

 

with the live axle suspension wheel weight hardly matters.
