Default Windshiled Rust repair?

On my 1986 740 GLE i have some rust in about 3 spots on the top of my windshield, and it leaks when it rains so i would like to repair it. What is the best way to go about this? Would i need to remove the whole windshield? or Could i just use a dremmle to remove all of the rust and fill it with some bondo or something like that? Tips? Tricks?

Probably will need to take the windshield off... Usually there's more rust than meets the eye.... And it's hard to take it off without breaknig it...
