Default Won't start....

So, like an idiot I left my 740 sitting to long and after 6 months I came back and it wouldn't start.... it will turn over and sound like it is just about igniting.. I even get little puffs out the back... but it won't actually start!

Things I have done...

1- fuel
a - changed the filter
b - blew out all lines so there are no blockages
c - cleaned out the injectors
d - haven't done anything with the FPR
e - definitely getting fuel and when I tried starting and the removed the line at the fuel filter... there was pressure in the line
2 - spark
a - changed the spark plugs
b - changed the wires
c - hooked up a timing light to each wire and was getting spark on each one
d - have the wires hooked on the distributor 3-2-1-4

The car will turn over.... but it just won't stop.... anyone have any thoughts?

Go to www.stepbystepvolvo.com for a free guide to 740 no-starts. You can get fuel because the in-tank pump will still deliver fuel, even if the main fuel pump is dead. If the main fuel pump is dead, your car will not start.

Firing order on a B230 engine is 1-3-4-2 with 1 being at the front. #1 on the distributor cap is the second to the left looking from front to back of the engine. So from right to left looking aft your spark plugs should be going to #2, #1, #3, #4 respectively.
