Default 1980 PRV engine

I wondering if it would be worthwhile to rebuild the engine in a 1980 GLE. It is a PRV V6 (B28F) with 200,004 mile on it and most likely has blown a head gasket (water in the oil) or should I just try to fix the head gasket problem, if that is what it is or is it just time to go find another Volvo? The car is still in good shape, have had no problems with the oil issues these engine has been know to have, and has have 1 owner since it was new with all repair records kept. Any thoughts.

Well I am biased since I like the PRV so I say yes, save it! I'm reworking mine now.

Is it difficult and/or expense to find the parts necessary to rebuild those engines?

I been reading quite a few negative comments about the PRV engines; although it seems the newer version (B280F) does not have the oil problem that the earlier version seem to have; but this engine did go 200,004 miles over a 29 year period without any problems until just recently.

Well, it won't be difficult if you go to a dealership but that will make it expensive!
