1993 240 - can someone explain to me how to jumper or bypass the low pressure switch to see if that is the issue with the A/C compressor not turning on?

Also, is it possible to apply 12V directly to the compressor to see if that turns it on?

Unplug the switch, there are two female slots on the plug. Get a short piece of wire and plug each end into each of the slots. Turn the car on, turn the A/C on--if the switch is bad and all else is good the compressor should turn on.

You can apply 12V directly to the compressor turn it on.
