Default 1995 960 gauge and AC problem

1. All my gauges quit out of the blue the other day. My husband wiggled the fuses and they all came back on except the temp. gauge. Does anyone know which wire or connector might possibly be loose or what the problem might be? He did wiggle again, but nothing happened.

2. AC blows hot. We've only had the car about 6mos. and it's been cold weather so we haven't needed the AC. We decided to sell the car because we couldn't sell our other one and can't afford all 4 cars we have. (Insurance is a killer on 4 cars.) We found a buyer and told him of the hot AC. He said the evaporator core goes out a lot on these cars. He agreed to take the car, but backed out the next day because of the AC. He said it could be major. When you have it on the automatic settingon the highway and accelerate, the ac stops until you reach a cruising speed. He said this was not normal. We had a 2000 v70 that did the same thing. I called a Volvo dealership and they said that was normal. They also said the evaporator coil almost never goes out on these cars as the man said. What do you all think. They said it's possibly freon. I bought the kit at Wal-Mart and it showed to be full. The Volvo guy said those kits are not always accurate. Has anyone had a similar problem. Everything works fine, it just blows hot.

Those one-time filler from wal mart is one time fill. They work in case that the AC system on your car has a little bit of space to take the freon. Once there is no space(at the second one-time fill), they won't work. The best thing to do is to get the whole freon or other stuff out of the AC system, and recharge it. It's good to run your AC once in a while even during the winter.

I've posted in your other thread, but thought it would be a good idea to post the link again, just incase someone else is having the same problem.
Scroll up and down to search for more info after clicking on the link. Let me know what you find out and I will do the same, if I get a chance before you.

First, is the AC blowing hot air all the time or just under acceralation. the hot air under 50% to 100% accerelation is a "typical" volvo vacum lines issue which can be fixed, but it is pricey. just leave it as is. Now, if your AC is blowing hot air all the time, you need to recharge the system with refrigerant. Buy a set of AC gages including low side (blue), high side (red) gagesandrecharable yellow hose which connects to the can. this is all in one set.make sure that when you recharge the ACat least one can contains mixture ofrefrigerant + oil.
I did this to my AC and now it blows 41 degrees ( 86 deegsunny day outside).
