Default Is 1995 960 OBD 2?

I'll spare you the details, but basically my dad and I are trying to put a 1995 960 motor in a 1997 960. The main wiring harness from the 95 engine did not match up with the 97 fuse box, so we are attempting to put the harness from the old 97 engine onto the 95 block.

I am not sure if the harness will match up on the block though, due to OBD 2.

Probably a big mistake but it is what it is at this point.

Any help would be great.

Short answer - no. However, the engines are the same. Just swap your OBD2 sensors and harness over.

What did you end up doing to get the '95 running in your 960

Basically just put the '96 wire harness on the '95 engine. Drives beautifully still!

I can't remember the exact price, but we had bought it with a whole car that, for whatever reason, wasn't drivable.

And...that's the best way to get parts. Take what you need, strip the car, save what you might need and flip the rest. Typically, when I do this, I end up making money rather than spending money. Of course, many folks can't store a parts car long enough to strip it but if you can...it's the way to go.
